Veterinarian Liabilities and Care
The customer agrees to allow LEH Dog Grooming to obtain medical treatment for their dog, if it appears that, he/she is ill, injured or exhibits any other behaviours that would reasonably suggest that their dog may need medical treatment. This would be a Veterinarian Practice suitable at the time of need. The customer agrees that they are fully responsible for the cost of any medical treatment and the cost of any transportation for the purpose of the treatment provided to their dog and these costs will not be the responsibility of LEH Dog Grooming.
Health / Medical Problems & Senior Pets
Some medical conditions can make the grooming process stressful on pets.
The customer has informed LEH Dog grooming If their pet has been diagnosed with any medical conditions prior to the groom taking place and if they have any heart conditions, arthritis, back or neck problems, or any skin conditions. Every attempt will be made to minimize the stress which could exacerbate a pre-existing problem. This may mean altering some standard procedures such as not using a heated dryer or expecting the pet to stand still for extended periods. The customer accepts that this could change the final grooming appearance. If the pet becomes excessively stressed or show signs of medical compromise LEH Dog Grooming will stop the groom and the customer will be contacted about the best way to proceed.
Aggressive Pets
The customer MUST inform LEH Dog grooming, if their dog bites, has bitten, or is aggressive to people, other pets or specific grooming procedures. The customer accepts that in some cases the use of a muzzle maybe needed. This is a safety measure and will not harm their pet. This is to protect both the pet and the groomer.
LEH Dog Grooming reserves the right to refuse/stop services for such pets at any time before or during the grooming process. If this is the case the customers accepts that at whatever part of the grooming process LEH Dog Grooming has had to stop because of this the customer could still be subject to the full cost of the groom.
Matted Pet Coats / Fleas and Ticks
Pets with matted coats need extra attention during the grooming session. Matts left in pets coats only grow tighter, and can strangle the pet’s skin, even eventually tearing it open. LEH Dog Grooming do not want to cause undue stress to the customers pet, and will not continually de-matt the pet for the customer. Matts are difficult to remove and may require the customers pet to be shaved shorter than normal from a welfare stand point. It is not uncommon for underlying skin problems to present once matts are shaved off including parasites (fleas/ticks, infections (yeast/bacteria) or wounds. LEH Dog Grooming will contact the customer with any such findings. The customer accepts that LEH Dog Grooming is not responsible or liable for any skin irritation, abrasion, or hair loss due to any pre- existing skin condition, or as a result of the grooming process, de-matting, thinning or clipping. The customer also accepts that there is an additional cost of £25.00 to be added to the grooming cost if excessive matts are removed from the dog’s coat. This is to cover the addi- tional time that will be added to the groom and any damaged caused to the grooming tools.
If fleas, ticks or any other parasites are found on the pet during the grooming process, LEH Dog Grooming will contact the customer and reserves the right to stop services. The customer accepts they could still be subject to the full cost of the groom. If LEH Dog grooming continues with the grooming process the customer accepts there is an additional cost of £20.00 for the use of a specialist parasite shampoo and the decontamination of the grooming salon.
Shaving Double Coated Breeds
If the customer has requested for their double coated breed of dog to be shaved down the customer is aware of the following - Shaving a double coated breed can result in slow regrowth or occasionally failure of the coat to re-grow at all. The customer accepts that this has nothing to do with the method of grooming but rather the growth pattern of these types of coats. In some cases, the coat regrows but the colour and texture may be different. This is an inherent risk of shaving these types of dogs and should be seriously considered prior to proceeding with the shaving. Shaving down heavy coated dogs does not offer relief from heat, it actually makes them less able to regulate their body temperature. If the customer is still wanting their double coated breed to be shaved, the customer accepts that LEH Dog Grooming is not responsible for any of the possible results highlighted above.
Accidents
There is always the possibility that an accident could occur. Grooming equipment is sharp. Even though LEH Dog Grooming uses extreme caution and care in all situations, possible problems could occur including cuts, nicks, scratches, quickening of the nails etc. In most cases this can happen when a pet is wriggling or moving around. Every effort will be made to ensure that the customers pet is groomed as safely as possible. However, some pets may have reactions to grooming products or procedures. The customer accepts that LEH Dog Grooming is not responsible or liable for any skin irritation, abrasion, or hair loss due to any pre-existing skin condition, or as a result of the grooming process, de-matting, thinning, stripping or clipping etc.
Missed Appointments & Cancellations
The Customer accepts that any appointments missed or cancelled within 24 hours of the scheduled groom the customer could be subject to the full cost of the grooming appointment. LEH Dog Grooming understands there may be emergency situations and at that point the charge may be waivered. However, if this is something that happens on more than one occasion a full charge will be incurred to the customer.
Lateness
If the customer is more than 15 minutes late for their scheduled appointment, the customer accepts that LEH Dog Grooming reserves the right to cancel the appointment and class as a 'Missed Appointment'. The customer will be subject to the full charge of the groom. Appointment times are specifically allocated and a late arrival will minimize the amount of time LEH Dog Grooming has to complete the groom and potentially impact other customer's scheduled grooms.
A time will be provided by LEH Dog Grooming to the customer for when their pet needs collecting following the groom. The customer accepts that if they are more than 15 minutes late collecting their dog without prior notice to LEH Dog Grooming, a charge of £5.00 for every additional 15 minutes the dog is in the care of LEH Dog Grooming will be added to the cost of the dog's groom.
Dog Photos and Video Release
The customer agrees to allow LEH Dog Grooming, its owners, employees, officers, directors and agents to use the customers dog's name and any images or likeness of their dog taken while he/she is at the grooming salon, in any form or format, for use, at any time, in any media, marketing, advertising, illustration, trade or promotional materials. The customers agrees that this provision shall be binding by them and all of their successors, heirs, legal representatives and assigns.
